I was looking at Andrey’s face, when it became 3-0 and I was looking for some hope. In vain! That was a shock! Pushkar at the table of the NEMIROFFA 2011 and the one in Vegas are two different sportsmen. How could that happen? Six to zero? Such a competitor?! We, the fans will remember this American duel for long, as something extraordinary, exciting and a perfect sports event. No matter what would have been the result, what would have happened – it would have become a part of the history of our discipline. But what should Andrey Pushkar do now? What were all these duels for? What now?

Let’s start for the “causative factor”, so the unfortunate clasp. Why did is crack as a proverbial… contraceptive? The answer is pretty easy. So it happens. Do you remember when Michael gave his audience the sign that “it’s good”? As a result, when after the first strap and the first disruption the referee had to use a naval knowledge in the field of tying knots – everything intertwined to Pushkar’s disadvantage!

That evening was not only terrible for him…  Igor Mazurenko literally asked heaven for the belt to endure till the end of the tournament. There was no such a coincidence in the history of the professional armwrestling! The referee tied up the strap so that the sharp knot crossed Pushkar’s hand, hurting him badly. But it is not about the pain, as he is such a strong guy. The sharp edges of the knot sank into his skin so badly that the pain blocked the competitor the ability to move his fingers! He went to the corner and told Arsen Liliev: - “Listen, I cannot bend my fingers.” The smartness of the competitor’s hand got bloody purple in a few seconds. The pain is nothing. But limited movable of the hand and fingers is much worse. That’s a drama!

In the end the referee fund the way to tie the strap in such a way that neither of the competitirs was hurt. But it was already too late for Andrey. Michael has already felt blood…

Only once in a fight, in the fifth round, Pushkar did what he should have been doing from the beginning.

He went in a top roll to the side, bending his wrist but his wrist was weaker and he did not manage to develop the final phase of the attack.

In the previous rounds he could not understand, that the more strength he is putting into the side pressure attack, the more chances are give to the opponent. That’s how it was happening. Todd was withstanding the pressure, intercepting the arm and entering the centre of the table and ending up with the triceps attack.

After the fight...

Andrey, left through the technical exit and stood near the television car. He was standing and looking at the lights of the “Sin City”. Almost twenty minutes passed until one of the technicians rushed anxious into the hall looking for Igor. – “Maybe we should call an ambulance?” – he shouted. Let Igor talk: - “I went out of the hotel and saw Andrey standing still on the pavement. What has happened? – I thought. I have never seen a competitor agonizing over his defeat. It was simply impossible to talk to him. He was standing lake the whole world collapse on his head. I also do start, so I have suffered a setbacks myself, but…. what could I do? We have finally went to the conference after the event. Andrey snarled something and went away. Shock, just shock!”

Igor, what with Pushkar now? Will there still be any place for him at the table?

Igor Mazurenko: - „Yes! We do not cancel him! It did not even crossed my mind. He just needs to draw conclusions from what happened. He still does not have proper proportions of wrist strength and the rest of muscles. The trainings in Gdynia were however successful. Andrey wa, as he said himself, and I really saw that, in the best form. In any way, shape or form. So much heart and strength that he put into preparations – Shock!

Just like in case of Michael Todd, everybody are trying to figure out who do you see as an opponent for Andrey?

Igor: - Devon Larratt – He has a different technique than Todd, and at the same time, enough strength to make the fight matched. At first Pushkar has to have some rest and then he should fight with Devon! When he wins, when he “rebuilds”, perhaps... we will call the next Vendette in Las Vegas the REVENGE...?”
